It was only up till today when one of my classmates asked how my Easter was that I remembered I hadnt posted anything on it. Donch woryyyyyy, I am here to deliver! For those of you not interested in reading about my travels to the countryside, feel free to hit the Alt+F4 button now :)
So after I got back from Amsterdam, I had a few days to get my life sorted out. Unpack, and REpack cause I was gonna spend a few days over at the Olivers' down in Stoke. It was Easter weekend and there was going to be a big lunch with family members coming in from Wales and Bournemouth. Easter lunch plans were nearly upset because we forgot that shops were closed on Easter Sunday and we had used the last of the chicken to cook fajita wraps the night before. But, Carolyn made do with what they had, chicken quorn stew and baked potatoes, with honeycomb ice cream for dessert ! And yeah, what Easter would be complete without annnnn... EGG HUNT!!! :D Rowan and I had so much fun hiding the eggs that I could hardly contain myself from telling Rowan's nieces where all of them actually were. We're really little kids at heart you know.

We just kinda chilled the day after that caused everyone was just pretty much worn out from yesterday and couldnt be asked to move our asses. We did some light grocery shopping, had lunch at The Roaches tea room which was reaallllyyy english! Oatcakes was the specialty and it was alright, but I wasnt head over heels. I never was into healthy foods! I opted for an omelette with cheese and mushrooms instead :P It was overlooking the Staffordshire valleys, very picturesque. We also drove round the peak district, the whole way, Neil and Carolyn being our local tourguide, telling me AND Rowan stories about the village and area. Neil grew up there so he knows the roads, the people like the back of his hand ! Mind you, its just a small little village, Old Endon, Leek.

Next day, Neil was back in work and it was just me, Rowan and Carolyn left to explore more of the village. We wanted to visit Little Moreton Hall but unfortunately when we got there, it was closed so we just traipsed the outside and its gardens. With its wonky frame, it looked like it came out of a Dr. Seuss' book.We climbed up to the highest peak of the Staffordshire/Cheshire border called Mow Cop, where on one side was the Staffordshire hills and valleys and on the other, was the Cheshire plains. Breathtaking view! The wind up on Mow cop was so strong it nearly blew me off my feet ! but I think the fresh air did me good ! :) Had lunch at the canal, sandwiches and chips and in the evening, me, Anna and Ro went to the stables for some horse riding lessons. Apart from a crazy runaway horse, the lesson was pretty standard if you ask me. Walk, trot, canter, Walk trot canter.
By the time we got home that evening, dinner was already ready. We had fishcake pie with mash that night and then into Hangley town for a night out with some of Ro's homies. And I tell you this, a night out in Hangley can actually make you miss Manchester! hahaha it was THAT terrible !

And that wraps up my Easter for you.
Toodlie Dooooo!
