Just had my first chillin' weekend of a cut-short easter break. Its been quiet. One of my housemates is away for holiday.. I think.. and the other, is a tad on the shy side and we're not really on the 'BFF' status yet. She's only just moved in for about a month now and we're still getting to know each other. Up to Easter, I've had a lot to be thinking about, MLP volunteering, MLP 3000 word essay, summer exams and life in general. So you see, I really need a good break. I've booked a trip to Cork, Ireland to see Timah for a few days. So hopefully that'll be able to take me away from my woes and worries for a bit. I am definitely looking forward to finally meeting Max, Timah's german boyfriend. LOL.
Whats up with me other than that?
Well I've been trying to finish the Quran. I started sometime in December and I'm working my way through. Might have been able to finish it sooner, but you know ladies, they always get a week off every month. Damn you period! Lol. And I've just passed surah Yasin so you get the jist of where I'm at. I read using the traditional kitab but I also have a really cool electronic version on my iPad called 'myQuran' just in case I get stuck on certain ayats, they have a recording of the reading by different Imaam's, they also have tafsirs of every verse and methods of correct pronunciation! So I'd recommend to everyone who has an iPad! :)
قا ل ر سول الله(صلى الله عليه و اله وسلم): ان هذه القلوب لتصدا الحديد و ان جلاءها قراءة القران
The Messenger of Allah (prayers of Allah be upon him and his family) has said: "These hearts - just like iron - become rusted, and the way to remove this (the way to clean the rust from the hearts) is through recitation of The Quran."
