Hello! Ayah's finally here but he's not been very well. Three days into his stay at Oxford, and apparently he must have done his back in somehow, because now he is in constant pain on the left side of his body from the waist down. He told me over the phone just before getting the train in and when I picked him up from Manchester Piccadilly, it literally broke my heart to see this man grimacing in pain, with every step just trying to make his way up the platform.
So as you can see, he's been looked after like a king. I've done all the heavy bag lifting, all the shopping bag carrying (isnt as easy as it sounds) all the heavy duty cooking andddd I've enjoyed every single minute of it. But for someone who cant seem to sit around doing nothing, my dad is still getting used to the fact i'm fussing over him. He's actually learning to chill. Lol and at the risk of sounding selfish, at the moment, I'm glad I dont have to share him with the four other women in his life. I'm honored to get to take care of him.
We've been to see a physio but they dont dare do anything too invasive, and with trying to get an appointment with an NHS doctor? well, it'll be like waiting for the cows to come home. So getting him some painkillers and gel rubs was in the best of my ability. It doesnt seem to be getting any better and I'm just worried when the time comes, that he has to make his way to London for his flight back this Friday. The tube, the bags and the rush hour of London. So if anyone knows of any porter services in London Euston, or maybe little, helpful Christmas elves that exist, please let me know! I'd really appreciate the help!
And because its all too relevant, if you remember, in this post, I promised something. Recently, I made good on this promise.
"First and foremost, I love you because of your family relationship & values, something that even you, couldnt have put on just for show. And that, it has made me closer to mine."
"So thank you."
