Day 2: Ola Barcelona!!

Day 2:

We decided an early start to the day is what we needed to get over the night before. We had a lot planned and so litle time to see all ! After our little encounter with the law, for not parking correctly we spent some time checking out public car parks to dump our car. No way were we taking it out after our trauma ! haha. Plus it was way easier to go about the city by Metro (the subway). So we went to see the Sagrada Familia. It was so grand, too bad it was unfinished. Works on the church started waaaayyy back in 1886 and is only scheduled to be completed in 2026. Now thats, what I call slacking! :P

Then it was off to Parc Guell - kinda like a National Park which was really nice. We had to climb hills to get the best view of Barcelona and add a scorching hot sun, you have a recipe for baked skin ! :P We trudged our way up the hill, and by the time we got to the top , the view - it was just worth the wet patches of armpit sweat! The park itself was HUGE! and to top it up, the weather was really nice as well ! The whole park was basically like Gaudi's shrine with his artwork littered around the park.

spot meeee !

Then it was off to Nou camp - FCBarcelona's stadium! We took the metro and after a few changes, we stopped at the stop we were told by our hotel receptionist. and I quote him ''this is the nearest to the Nou camp'' TEEEETTTTT! WRONG! we ended up getting lost, having to stop random spanish people to ask for directions, and in the end, having to walk ALL the way round it since there was only one visitors entrance! We just encircled the outside grounds, not thinking it was actually worth it to pay €17 for a tour of the stadium itself.

We got back that evening (knowing our car was safely parked), really worn out but very fulfilled. After showers and prayers, we headed down to the marina for the nightmarket and just a night view of the docks and city. It was going to be our last night in Barcelona and there was actually so much more to see so we wanted to make the most of it !

Day 2 of our Spain tour was just a taster of what was to come in the next couple of days!
Keep watching this space!
