To summarize up Spain would be impossible. So I'll give you a day by day account of what we did.
DAY1:
Our flight was on time and check in was smooth except for the one minor fact that I was the only one stopped at customs for making the metal detector go off. It just gave the three other boys, Adli, Luke and Bobo a chance to see me get felt up most inappropriately. If you ask me, I personally think they were out to give me a hard time ! Its all a conspiracy I say! :P hehe.
The almost 2 and a half hour flight went without a glitch and as soon as we arrived in Barcelona airport, we went straight to pick up our rental car. Minor setback: Luke's credit card was blocked from making overseas transactions but that was cleared after 2/3 phonecalls. So we drove into town without a GPS, we decided we were clever enough
to navigate roads...I mean how hard could it be to follow signs eh ? WRONGGG!
Note to self: When you're in a country where you dont speak their language, BRING A DICTIONARY!
Fair enough, the main roads were fairly easy to navigate, but once we got into town... Nightmare! it took us almost 2 hours to find our hotel which wasnt far off from the place we kept circling! Now, after that we parked the car, checked into the hotel and decided to foot it into town rather than taking the car to avoid so much hassle.

We walked along the Marina, Las Ramblas - street of arts and performers, visited the La Boquiera market, peeked into the Hard rock cafe and just gaped in awe at the beautiful architecture in Barcelona - thanks to Gaudi.

Now for the funny part. (well we sure dint think so at the time!)
What would you do, if you parked your car in a spot, went for lunch/a walk, came back and your car was, POOF!!.. gone?!

Yeappppp peeps, exactly what happened! Oh the dramaaa! In all the frantics, we found out our car had been towed and sent to the compound. That was €200 euros out the window just to get it out of the compounds! And on the FIRST day as well! Our pockets took a heavy blow to be honest. It was supposed to be a budget travel!
I think that kinda spoiled everyone's mood for the night. We were supposed to head for the beach and watch the fireworks of the San Juan festival which went on all through the night but after the stressful panic we had earlier in the evening, everyone was just happy to call it a night really.
Day 1, thats a wrap! :D
