The story was based around a group of people who had AIDS and were living in a society that discriminated and disapproved of their bohemian lifestyle - living the carefree life, and not being able to pay the rent, hence the title. Its a mix of different life stories of the members of the group, the main one being the classic love plot between Mimi, the young beautiful drug addict, and Roger, the aspiring musician, but plagued and held back by his disease. The Manchester University Musical Theatre Society executed this production beautifully, and almost brought me to tears during the ending climax (no, there will be no spoilers here :p) And fyi, it was actually from this movie, that inspired the blogname - La Vie Boheme.
And here I am with the star of the show, Nia played Mimi!!
I absolutely love musicals and going to the theatre. Which would account for wishlist agenda n0 17 - Watch Wicked! and Lion King at the London Broadway! So far, the closest experience I've enjoyed, are excerpts of these productions from the 'Back to Broadway' show put on by my fellow ex-flatmates in first year. Not worthy of a cross-off-the-list yet, but lets hope, soooooooonnnn!
Loves, xx
