Being away from Hastings for the past couple of weeks has been tiring so I have decided to stay put for once and enjoy this small little town I've had to call home. I've had a couple of visitors for the weekend and it was nice to have company around that isnt my own shadow or work related. The weekends around this Sussex area has been buzzing as of late due to the fact that bonfires are kind of a big deal here especially coming up to Bonfire night. There are loads of small little towns with its own quirky bonfire societies that parade around lighting bonfires around Sussex with glorious firework displays to end the night. It was fun to be able to show my friends around my little town and have company to explore it together.
Below are a few pictures from the weekend....
^^This was the massive bonfire before it was set alight! There was a 200m radius clearance from the actual bonfire site as we were warned that the pebbles on the beach under the bonfire could get really hot and sometimes even explode. So precautions needed to be taken!^^
^^The procession was filled with a lot of freakishly looking ghouls and skeletonish figures, all coinciding with the weekend of halloween too I guess!^^
^^I personally loved how the massive bonfire created and eerie and fierce atmosphere blanketed by the pitch black background. Very halloweeny^^
^^And these silhouette shots are some of my favs. I think it might have jest been a fluke that I managed this after not using my proper camera for so long. Camera phones nowadays have just taken over traditional point and shoot cameras probably due to the practicality of it being constantly with me wherever I go. But shots like these remind me of how you definitely cant beat a good traditional camera.
^^And then of course bonfire night wouldnt be complete without a spectacular firework show at the end! It was another good weekend with good company. And with that being said, I cant believe how time has flown by. Today marks the day that Ive been working for two months and I almost cant believe it. Thats two months into being a dentist, two months into being fully independent and most importantly, two months into getting paychecks! :P
