Well,
guess where I was over last Saturday and Sunday? I always love spending
my weekends in the city of London. Full disclosure, when you're a city
girl forced to live a small town, naturally you would crave to be back
in the hustle and bustle of the city life, so London was the only
obvious thing to do really! Being a working professional now and busy making a living for myself (cewah!), I feel really out of shape and I feel so lethargic all the time. I rarely break into a sweat at all nowadays and it feels very unhealthy. By the time I get home from work I am so knackered and starving I could hardly be arsed to do anything other than have a hot shower and make myself some well-deserved dinner.
I've been thinking a lot about traditions. like what is it that I will love to do and what my future family will love to do together over the years to come, and carry on over the decades together. I know a lot of friends who go on ski trips every year with their families, and they start hitting the slopes at a very young age, making loads of really cool videos. Having tried skiing for the first time early this year, its such a fun and thrilling tradition that gets everyone involved. Right now, I feel like running is a big one, for everyone perhaps. It just seems like everybody's doing it at the moment, joining marathons, running crews etc. I've always been more of a track and sprint junkie rather than a distance runner so probably not sustainable for the future. Cycling though, seems like something I would definitely consider. Cycling back home in KL would be a whole different ballgame. but if I settled somewhere bike-friendly and find an equally enthusiastic guy, that could turn into a tradition thingy for us. Look at me, talking about the future! what am I saying... Lol, I dont know... I just want to be sure to cultivate a spirit of loving to do things together from early years on, and that we can find one specific activity or sport to love and be passionate about together. (and no, shopping is not a sport, so it does not count)

^^Oh hey there! dont mind us, we're just really good at multi-tasking: running selfies! but no really, this takes a lot of skill. Out of the gazillions we snapped this was probably the only one which didnt come out a blur!^^
One of the things I have missed around here is actually having a really nice English brunch. Hastings, being such a small town, I've not really found anywhere I can have a really good brunch at. They have a really good steakhouse which I have tried and would definitely recommend and plenty of chippy's. but no delicious eggs florentine with hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon on sourdough Rye bread kinda brunch. Moreover, a good brunch is nothing without good company anyway! My cutie friend Nawal suggested we try this new little spot she found out from a friend which she had wanted to go to. It was a modified greenhouse-eatery which is in a tree nursery near Little Venice (closest tube station would be Warwick Avenue)

^^This is The Quince Tree cafe at The Clifton Nurseries^^
^^Do you see what I was talking about the beautifully plated brunch and some good ol' English breakfast tea! nomnomnom^^
^^A lot of the leaves here in the parks of London have turned colours. We spotted bright reds and stunningly gorgeous yellow on our morning run through the canals of the borough! Some trees had already shed their leaves completely which means one of my favourite holidays is approaching (eh hem, boxing day shopping), I'm excited to welcome Winter. I love layering up in coats and scarves and boots and I bought a few new jumpers over the weekend (who knows how it'll fit into my already collapsing wardrobe) but they were too good a deal and too snuggly to pass up!
Anyways, that was last weekend in London! We ended my visit watching the christmas lights in Regent Street being switched on. I cant believe how fast time has flown by and we are nearing Christmas already! I definitely need to find some time to make it up to the Christmas markets in Manchester. Proud to say I've been going every year since 2009, so I would hate to make this year my first no-go! Hey wait... this counts as a tradition right? ;) Bring on the merriment and festivities!
Peja xx
